Working in close collaboration with experts at Nord Quantique, the chosen candidate will:
- Lead the development and integration of multi-cavity superconducting quantum processors.
- Work hands-on with cryogenic systems, superconducting microwave circuits, and control electronics.
- Collaborate with the Design team to improve hardware performance and reliability.
- Interface with the Nanofabrication team to support device fabrication.

Education and experience requirements:

Our Current Needs
As we scale up our quantum processors and supporting infrastructure, we are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Nanofabrication Technician to join our Nanofabrication Team. In this role, you will directly contribute to improving the performance of our quantum processors by executing key nanofabrication processes, including solvent cleans, acid etches, quality control using in-line characterization protocols, and tolerance measurements, within a cleanroom environment. All work must adhere to established standard operating procedures and strict safety protocols, ensuring the precision and consistency required for high-performance quantum systems.
In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring the consistent quality of our quantum processors which is vital for the scalability of our quantum technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle, mix and transfer chemicals in accordance with standard operating procedures and safety protocols
- Perform routine and non-routine tasks in an ISO-certified cleanroom environment while wearing appropriate PPE (e.g., gowns, gloves, masks)
- Clean and etch components using solvent and acid processing
- Maintain accurate documentation to record process parameters recording environmental and chemical process parameters
- Conduct routine equipment checks, calibrations, and basic maintenance tasks
- Support chemical inventory management
- Offer suggestions and improvements to improve the existing workflow
- Perform in-line characterization measuring machining tolerances and surface finish for quality control purposes (using an image dimension measurement system)
- Flag potential problems as they occur
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mechanical Design and Manufacturing to co-ordinate workflow and determine priorities.
This is a dynamic role within a fast-paced, research-driven environment, offering the opportunity to contribute directly to the advancement of scalable quantum hardware.
Education and experience requirements:
- College-level degree in chemistry, laboratory techniques—analytical chemistry, chemical processes, or other relevant related
- 3+ years of hands-on experience working in academic or industrial micro and/or nanofabrication facilities
- Knowledge of chemical safety and hazardous materials handling
- Knowledge of best practises of how to work in a cleanroom
Sought expertise and knowledge:
- Knowledge of safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals (acids, solvents, bases, etc.)
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with precision
- Highly proficient performing fine motor tasks that require high levels of manual dexterity
- Experience producing detailed up-to-date records and technical reports
Experience with quality control procedures and performing in-line characterization/tolerance measurement (e.g. optical microscopy, micrometers, confocal microscope, image dimension measurement systems, roughness measurement tools) is not essential but would be advantageous.

Our current needs
The sustained growth of our team has led to increasing needs in terms of managing our IT resources. The Software team is currently responsible for IT at Nord Quantique. To support our internal operations and lay a solid foundation for the company's growth, we are looking for an experienced individual who will be responsible for structuring and improving our IT infrastructure.
Working in close collaboration with other members of the Software team and DistriQ, the candidate will:
- Develop and implement best practices for managing IT resources and data company wide.
- Manage policies for controlling access to IT tools.
- Establish and maintain an inventory of the company's IT equipment; ensure employee onboarding by providing them with the necessary equipment.
- Deploy, maintain and troubleshoot workstations, servers as well as the company network.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity experts to ensure the security of hardware and software systems by implementing recommended practices.
- Perform any other related IT-related tasks.
Education and experience requirements :
- Diploma of college studies in computer science or related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in IT management or systems support.
- Proven experience in deploying new IT processes.
- Experience working in a scientific or R&D environment, an asset.
Sought expertise and knowledge:
- Expertise in IT problem solving
- Expertise in IT best practices
- Skills in scripting and automation
- Experience in managing Microsoft 365 and Apple Business Manager services, an asset
- Experience in cybersecurity, an asset
- Expertise in communication between laboratory instruments and computers (PCIe/USB/serial, etc.), an asset
- Advanced level in English, to communicate with international team members
- Intermediate knowledge of French, an asset

Salary: $80 000 - $110 000 per year
